About? “Helping Small Business Take The First Steps Online” 1. Are you looking to get your business online or even start a new online business? 2. Have you set up online though still not getting the reward for you time, money and effort? 3. Are you confused about how to take your business to the next level? 4. Would you like to discover how to flood you business with ready-to-buy customers? 5. Would you like to boost the profitability of your business? If you answer yes to any of these questions… Relax, you’re in the RIGHT place! Here’s how Online LiftOff can help… I have broken down the A to Z of how to set up and expand a successful business online into easy to consume bitsize chunks. You can steadily work your way from complete novice to expert by just following the natural pathway I have set out. The website includes everything you need to know from building your very first website to tapping into unlimited targeted traffic. If you’re a first time visitor and new to online business, click here to head over to my newbie page and get started with your free 7 Day Starter Pack Course. In it you’ll learn how to be online and customer ready within just 7 days. But what if you have already established an online presence and still have nothing to show for it? Well, this is the fence many people fall at. They spend hard earned cash on a nice pretty website and wait for sales to roll in. If only it was that simple. The fact is there a thousands of new websites launched every day and so you need to be very active in attracting targeted traffic to your site. Online Liftoff deals with all the main traffic sources online (and off) and shows you how to get your fair share. And finally, nobody wants to run a pub where everyone brings their own drink. In this blog, you will learn how to convert your traffic into buying customers and raving fans. Why should you listen to me? Over the last few years, I’ve been to many internet conferences and meet ups. The thing which makes these events so powerful is not information from the keynote speakers but what you can pick up from other attendees. Often, the most valuable tips, help and guidance comes from that person just ONE step ahead on the learning curve. And this is the key concept I want to bring to ONLINE LIFTOFF. As someone who not so long ago knew very little about the online world, I had to learn hard and fast. I have made all sorts of mistakes yet still grinded out decent success and it’s these valuable experiences I feel are worthwhile sharing. You see I am not some computer graduate, nor am I a tech geek. In fact my background was traditional business, very much in the offline world. However, like it or lump it, I have had to adjust and embrace the internet for all the threat it presents and opportunity it offers. And although the journey has been tough, it is very doable for anyone who cares enough to persist with learning and applying the skills needed to succeed online. How I got here? Actually I started my career as an accountant about 10 years ago and although I enjoyed the cut and thrust as a corporate, I yearned to do my own thing and jumped the first chance I got. That jump was into the furniture trade (family business) and where I got battle-hardened in a highly competitive industry supplying a few hundred retailers in the UK and Ireland. The industry went through massive transformation through the last decade and forced me to diversify and learn new skills just to survive. It was during this time I began an obsessive appetite for learning how to sell online! The internet was having a huge impact on the furniture trade. Footfall in shops fell dramatically and consumers became much more sophisticated in their buying behaviour using the internet to research and hunt the best bargain. From a very early stage, I recognised to succeed in modern business, you need to become very proficient with INTERNET MARKETING skills. The last few years has been spent putting what I have learned into practice. I have setup dozens of new websites selling everything from digital products right through to personalised gifts drop-shipped by the manufacturer. It’s been a bumpy ride but thankfully I have reached the point where I can now start to see the fruits of my labour. AND while all this experience is fresh in the memory, I figure the best way to share it is via this blog. Like anything I have learnt more from the failures than the successes. But know this..nearly all my failures were avoidable and you can and should avoid them too. The key thing, you should take out of this story is, no matter what your level of experience with online marketing or ecommerce is, you can achieve success online. And you don’t need to fly solo or blow the budget with a shiny marketing agency. Use the help that’s out there like this website and learn from the experiences (good and bad) of others. Why I have started this blog? More by chance than anything, I recently started to help out a few friends with challenges they faced online, whether it was building a website, finding traffic or even finding the right product to sell online. Initially this started out as favours and knixers but very quickly turned into formal requests for my consulting services as more and more people came looking for my help. Lately I have even provided services via Enterprise Ireland and also to local industry agencies. Personally I derive much more satisfaction when I am able to apply my skills to help others achieve their goals. And so the seed was born to begin this blog and share my knowledge with a wider audience. I have cut and diced the information on this website up into very structured modules. It has a natural flow from beginner right through to cutting edge tactics for advanced marketers. However, be sure to take baby steps when starting out and ONLY learn what you need to know next, be it, how to build a website or how to do facebook ads. Don’t try to learn everything at once. Learn a little and apply it, then move on. I hope you enjoy the site and get some meaningful takeaways. But most of all I really hope you put those takeaways into action and make a difference in your business. Wishing you every success on your journey.
